I’ve had my porcelain teeth for several years. Now my gums seem to be receding. Is that normal?
Stephanie G. from Kansas City
Stephanie,
Yes, this is normal. Often when you have dental crowns placed on your front teeth the margin between your teeth and the crowns will begin to show. If this margin is noticeable, it is likely that you have porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns. You’ll probably see a dark line at your gum line. If this is making you uncomfortable with your smile, you may want to consider getting all-porcelain crowns.
